Howling, whistling, rattling... there are many words to describe the sound of wind. But wait, does the wind have a sound? Those sounds simply came from the interactions between the wind and objects. "Howling wind," for example, describes the nature of the howling structure (perhaps the gutter of your house) in the wind, rather than the wind itself.
